JF Rey over at Hurricane Entertainment in France is a rip off and I suggest that everyone stays away from his services. He has owed my record label over $1000 for over two years. Every 6 months I managed to get some empty promises by him since he would mass email his contacts without hiding them in the BCC box so I would mass email all of them back telling them not to work with him. We never saw any results from his promotional work, and we never saw a single payment for over $1000 of merchandise that he promised to distribute for us in France. I've even spoken with Season of Mist Distro whom actually had our stock in distribution there and I know most of the stock sold yet we still never saw a single payment. He's also in the business of pressing CDs so I suggest staying away from him for that as well.

I'm afraid that I have to beg to differ. Granted, Hurricane's communicative skills leave a lot to be desired and (to me anyway) it seems like things at Hurricane started to progress in a rather chaotic fashion from one point in time on.

In the past I did need to apply some pressure every now and again in order to get sales statements and payments, but in the end every invoice was paid.

In 2008 I've done 3 albums using Hurricane's pressing services: Amnod-Monstrosity Per Defectum, Hatred-Blasphemous Deliverance and Disturbing Foresights-De-Grunged. All 3 lots arrived.

However, I did end my relationship with Hurricane because of the communication thing. I'm running Deity Down Records next to a regular full-time job and I have a wife and a son, which means that I prefer to work with partners who communicate more fluently. Guess I just got fed up...

Bottom line is that in spite of the downside, Hurricane has never ripped me off. If JF had done a better job at feeding info when asked for, I probably would still be collaborating with him.
